She could see the revulsion in his eyes, but he did not disobey. He would do anything to become her personal slave. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the slave finished the last drops of the concoction. He pulled the bowl away from his lips and looked up at Mistress Gaia, his eyes pleading for approval. She studied his face for a moment, her gaze penetrating. "Very good, slave," she said at last. "You have passed your test. From this moment on, you are my personal slave." A slow smile spread across her face as she watched the slave's eyes light up with gratitude and relief. With a graceful movement, Mistress Gaia rose from her throne and walked over to him. She lifted his chin with the tip of one gloved finger, her touch sending shivers down his spine. "Now, I have some work for you to do."
